CERTIFICATE COURSE 

(One Month - GIS Using 21st. Century from March-April,2008)

P.G. DIPLOMA 

 (One year - Two semesters from September 2008 to August 2009)

Eligibility

B.E, B.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, M.A. (Geography) 

For employed candidates: Same as above or  Diploma in Engineering / B.A. / B.Com (with on the job requirements) for P.G.Diploma

B.A./B.Sc. Part -1 for the Certificate Course on GIS -21st. Century

Course Fee
Rs. 25,000/- for Sponsored candidates (Per semester)

Rs. 20,000/- for Fresher students (Per semester)

Rs. 3000/- for the I month Certificate Course on GIS-21st. Century

Selection

Through Admission test/Interview.

Classes

Total 3 days per week 

(6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday & Thurseday)

(11:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday)

Curriculum

The First module will cover Fundamentals of Photogrammetry, Aerial Photography, Cartography, Basic Statistics, Probability Theory, Simultaneous Equation, Fundamental concepts of GPS and its use.

The Second module will cover Basic Remote Sensing, Visual Image Interpretation, Digital Image Processing, Basic Thermal Imaging System, Basic Microwave Remote Sensing and Application of Remote Sensing in various fields.

The Third module will cover Geographical Information System.

(Software: ERDAS 8.5, ARC VIEW, MAP INFO, ARC INFO, PCI - GEOMATICS 9.0, BILKO (UNICEF))

The Fourth module will be the pilot project phase. In this module the students will have to do a project work under the supervision of any guide assigned to him/her by the Course Coordinator. The students can select a topic of his/her choice either from the electives or he/she may propose his/her topic in consultation with his/her supervisor.
