Interview for JRF Positions

An Walk-in-Interview will be held in the seminar room of School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University, Kolkata 700032, on 23rd. December, 2011 (Friday) at 12 noon for the recruitment of following positions to carry out research work under the following 3 schemes :

1. “Potential Fishing Zone validation at Sundarban & Digha”: Duration 3 Years : JRF 2
2. “Estimation of Carbon Flux in Sundarban” : Duration 1 year ( to be extended) : JRF 1
3. “Geo scientific Studies in parts of West Bengal Coast & Off shore—Vulnerability assessment and Coastal Hazard preparedness : Duration 2 + year’ : JRF 1

Qualification:	M.Phil. in Oceanography, or M.Sc. with 55% marks. , preferably with NET,GATE,SLET qualifications in (1) Life sciences/ Fisheries Sciences (2 & 3) Geology / Marine Science/ Environmental Sciences. Candidates are expected to undertake extensive cruises and field work in Sundarban Estuary and preferably should have working knowledge of Remote Sensing & GIS applications In case candidates with NET/GATE/ SLET is not available or not found suitable, candidates with working experience in Sundarbans may be considered.
Age:	28 years.(Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC / ST / OBC/ Women / Experienced candidates).
Fellowship :	Rs.12,000+ Admissible allowances
